LETHBRIDGE'S PREMIER MOBILE ART STUDIO
COVID 19 accommodations: Smudge Art Studio is a small, local business, and our public events support other small, local businesses. Our events are not usually larger than 30 people, and not anywhere near the 250+ mass gathering limit guided by the Alberta Government. However, we are taking the following exceptions until further notice to our terms and conditions below:
- Public Workshops: Paint & Sips through to the middle of April have been postponed. Please check your email for further information.
- Private Bookings: You are welcome to move the date/time of your event with a $50+GST administration fee should you (the organizer) provide us with this request in writing with no less than 72 hrs from your event. Should you choose to cancel your event within 72 hrs of your event, the administration fee is $100+GST. In either scenario, you will receive a credit for the balance on your account to be used within 3 months of your original event date.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Payment: All Classes, Parties and Workshops require payment in full at the time of registration via Square Credit Card Processor online. All online purchases will receive a receipt from Smudge (Smudge logo on the receipt). Any discrepancies from this receipt must be reported within in 24 hours. We do not accept cheques of any kind (business or personal). Smudge is also not able to take on the administrative duty of accepting payments from a third-party program to be reimbursed by us to the original purchaser.
Registration Guidelines: Registration must be accompanied with a Liability Agreement and will not be processed until accepted by you via our online link, and your activity is paid in full. Spaces will not be held. See above for payment information. All art activities are planned for a specific age or grade level. If an artist registers for a class for which is not in their appropriate age/grade level, they may (will) be asked to leave with NO reimbursement to you as we are teaching actual techniques and evaluate the educational pedagogy required for each activity/lesson.
Availability Policy: All registrations are on a first come basis. There are no waiting lists.
Absence Policy: We are not able to offer a makeup session for absences, and no refunds will be processed if an artist misses a class/session (You don't get a private soccer class if you miss it - it's the same with Art class). However, you are welcome to find someone to replace you (although we know you're irreplaceable) - just let us know who that is as soon as possible.
Illness: In order to keep ourselves and our artists well, we ask that you do not attend class if you are ill. Unfortunately, classes cannot be "made up" for illness, so please send someone in your place. Staff reserves the right to ask any attendee to leave should they be ill as we must remain healthy in order to continue to run our business.
Weather: All Workshops and Parties will run as scheduled except in a weather event where a majority of the roads are reporting as red by the Alberta Motor Vehicle Association in and around the City of Lethbridge, or anywhere through our travels en route to an out-of-studio workshop (i.e. public or private workshops held in surrounding towns.). As we know how Southern Alberta weather can change, we may make this decision up to one hour prior to the start time of the event/workshop. If the roads turn within the hour of the start time, the event/workshop will run as scheduled. In the event of a weather event cancellation, the class, workshop or party will be cancelled and, at the choice of Smudge, either: (a) rescheduled to an alternate date/time within one month of the weather event, or; (b) a credit memo will be issued to be used within three months of the weather event. Refunds will not be issued for weather events.
Clothing: Due to the nature of the activities taking place, clothes may become damaged/stained. Please remember to wear your art clothes. Smudge Art Studio Inc.© will not be held responsible for any damaged clothing/shoes/accessories.
Accommodation & Supervision: At Smudge, we want everyone to have fun! If you feel that you or your artist should require extra assistance, please discuss accommodations and/or supervision with management prior to registering.
Photos: Smudge reserves the right to use our photographic material for promotional purposes without compensation to the subjects. If you do not want yourself or your child to be photographed, please let us know prior to the start of the event/workshop.
Information: Any and all information such as names, phone numbers, addresses, etc. collected on this form will not be shared or distributed with other parties who are not privy to purchase information, and will only be used for the sole purpose of activities with Smudge Art Studio Inc.© As we respect your information, we asked that you respect the information we share with you. The information shared with our guests is the property of Smudge. Any guest found to be utilizing our proprietary knowledge for their own business without our consent will be immediately banned from any activities with Smudge without compensation.
Behaviour: As with most businesses, our terms, conditions and policies are in place for the comfort and safety of all, including us. Should these not be respected or followed by any participant and/or guest (parent, adult or child), or should any one behave in an unacceptable manner, we may ask the participant to leave or close the private event immediately with no compensation required to you. Smudge Art Studio Inc. reserves the right to acquire compensation in any amount for any damage, excessive mess, excessive accommodation, etc. Any and all fees quoted are subject to change without notice and are subject to GST. Smudge reserves the right to refuse present and future service without compensation to you. This information is subject to change without notice.
FOR PUBLIC EVENTS
As we host public events throughout Southern Alberta, please review your receipt so that you are clear as to where your workshop is. Please note that the fee paid to Smudge is for the workshop only and does not include any food/drinks ordered. Workshops require a minimum number of artists to be registered for the class/workshop at least four days prior to the event, therefore we may not know if the workshop will run until this time. Should you register and this minimum not be met, and Smudge is required to cancel the class/workshop, you may choose to have a full refund or a credit memo for the full amount put on to your account at Smudge to be used at a later date. Credits must be used within three months of issue and may have individual terms and conditions. Please see the credit receipt for details. Seating is on a first-come basis. We do not guarantee that you will have a specific seat or that you will be seated with your friends.
Cancellation Policy: There are NO REFUNDS available for cancellations. You are welcome to transfer your spot to another artist, however, you MUST notify Smudge of this change by emailing us, and your replacement MUST complete a new registration form. We suggest arriving no later than 10 minutes prior to the start of the workshop. If you have not arrived within 20 minutes into the workshop, you will forfeit your spot with no required compensation to you. Your spot may be given up to other artists.
FOR PRIVATE ART WORKSHOPS (privately booked for you and your friends)
Purchases (base price) and Registrations/Liability Agreements must be completed within 24 hours of each other and will not be processed or accepted until both have been received in full. Should this not occur within 24 hours, your reservation/purchase may be cancelled and, if applicable, a refund provided less administration fees.
How many: The base price includes a certain number of artists (please visit the details of this event to determine that amount). If there are additional artists, there are additional fees (again visit, the event to determine what that fee is). Additional artist fees must be paid at least one week prior to your event. If payment is not received by this time, additional artists may not be permitted to participate. Smudge can host up to a maximum of 70 artists. For groups larger than 20, we require your booking to be made at least one month in advance, as well as notification of your capacity expectations, so that we can order materials properly. All materials are subject to availability.
Where/When: Your function time has been previously discussed with management and will also be made clear on the invoice. You are responsible for locating and providing a venue for your function. Approximately hour prior to your start time, the venue must be set up in a manner that is conducive to viewing and learning the art technique being instructed (if you require guidance on set up, please contact us). The venue must be aware that we use art materials, which can stain, and must have easy access to water with space for us to clean up.
Mileage: There is an additional mileage fee for venues outside of a 10km radius of City of Lethbridge Hall. Depending upon the distance and the number of total artists, there may be an additional travel fee for an additional instructor. Please contact us to verify. Any mileage and/or travel fees must be paid in full one week prior to your event.
Refund Policy: Refunds are not available for private functions.
Time/Date Change Request: Should you need to change the time/date of your event, we require a minimum of two weeks written notice, and a $50 administration fee will be due prior to the change being confirmed. We can move it to an available time within 3 months of the original party date.
Because you deserve to create well!
